Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots ejected

At least this is what Slash said through an interview that the legendary former member of Guns N 'Roses gave 93x, one of the most popular stations Minnessotta area. After much rumor mill that indicated a possible reunification with Velvet Revolver Weiland, guitarist waylaid set stating "Scott Weiland had been expelled from Stone Temple Pilots" and that he himself was surprised at the illogical madness that was casting a singer every two by three means. You can listen to the interview in the same entry.

Slash This comment made me understand many of the things that were happening lately around the figure of Weiland. From the desperate need that prompted him to resume a solo career soul to the strange (and cynical) comments made by Scott in which the artist was trying to lobby their former colleagues of Velvet Revolver. Is your only goal? Now we know, Velvet Revolver back so as not to remain in the underdog plane that appears to be located right now. This is definitely the beginning of the end of one of the most legendary singers of the nineties. Only a miracle (conceived as another great supergroup or a sublime last solo LP) could avoid the inevitable ostracism.

Foals - Inhaler

On February 11, the day will come to light "Holy Fire", the long awaited successor of two LPS - "Total Life Forever" and "Antidotes" - Foals have soared to one of the most respected groups in the scene British alternative. For this occasion the Oxford have chosen not to opt for working with old friends like Dave Sitek or Luke Smith. Foals have wanted another radical change and have therefore decided to relinquish control of the production of the duo compact Flood & Moulder. The seven, scrambled together and have managed to build parts as striking as 'Inhaler', first single from this great album which premiered on the network yesterday and already has an official video interesting.

'Inhaler' is one of those songs that hide much more than meets the eye. There is a world of layers behind the seemingly simplistic atmosphere sounds compiled by Yannis Philippakis escort. With an intro featuring a sinuous guitar riffs, Yannis's voice begins to softly modulated on these, intoxicating a song reaches its climax at the moment when the bass starts with a force that leads directly to some issues Rage Against the Machine (unbelievable but true!). And the song modulates your body, getting to contort into an unpredictable ending that completely breaks with the classic "corset" composing of songs of pop / rock.

Such is the impact that has caused 'Inhaler' that we're crazy to hear "Holy Fire" in its entirety. The thing a lot of expensive promises the third LP of some guys that go direct to grow even more than it had grown so far.

20 years of Pearl Jam in a video of two hours and a half hours

"Pearl Jam Twenty" was a remarkable documentary approach allowed us squarely to the 20 year history of one of our favorite bands: Pearl Jam. Directed by Cameron Crowe ("Almost Famous," "Elizabethtown"), the best of the film lay precisely in the narrative, which spun and seamlessly joined some of the best times I have lived in two decades the band that spawned in 1992 our beloved Eddie Vedder. Despite having mountains and mountains of unreleased material, there have been few who still have wanted to know more about the formation of Seattle. That desire to get closer to all the details of PJ is what has led me to give a visual document of the strangest: a video, divided into two parts, which are the best times I have experienced dads "Ten "or" Vs. "

This document has been created by fans, gathered from recordings extracted from "Pearl Jam Twenty" and the rest of DVDS fanvids PJ to some of the most amateur (and can be found on YouTube). In 2 hours of footage not lack virtually not one of the highlights of the band so if you're a fan of the band, so what are you waiting for take a look?

Alt-J, immersed in the gothic world of Wim Delvoye in the video for 'Fitzpleasure'

Day of news related to Alt-J. The first: the nomination of the emerging indie pop band from Cambridge to Mercury Prize Award to be given on 1 November. The creators of "An Awesome Wave" will have few options to choose the award, but even so fight head to head against other time greats like Michael Kiwanuka, The Maccabees or Lianne La Havas (who as we speak recently). The second story is referring to the song 'Fitzpleasure' and the original music video that has emerged from the alliance between themselves, a French filmmaker and a Belgian artist.

The story of this video refers to the moment when the director Guillaume Cagniard for years JR art director, established the connection between the pervasive thing and audiovisual company Galerie Perrotin, agency representing some of the most renowned artists of the moment : Sophie Calle, Maurizio Cattelan, etc ... After making a video with Massive Attack, COSA decided to approach the Belgian artist Wim Delvoye to develop a new media project: the video for 'Fitzpleasure' Alt-J. Filmed in one day in Paris, production shows a gothic and oppressive atmosphere, taking the special role and tattooed beings as unique garments.

The Vaccines: "We plan to play in Spain in December"

This week has been entirely dedicated to "Come of Age", the second studio album by The Vaccines. First published our review / recommendation of the album, then drop a post talking about how much we liked 'Aftershave Ocean', and now we bring you a brief but intense interview we did recently with Pete Robertson, the renowned London-based battery. With Pete talked about quite a bit, with a particular toll on the composition of "Come of Age", tour plans (Spain!) And fun experiences that they have lived in the past concerts. The Vaccines playing against moshpists, day in and day out! Incredible.
Without further delay I leave with the item. To see when just more specific detail on the alleged "double" The Vaccines give concert in our country.
- What made you decide to throw live and the way the recording of "Come Of Age"?We started as a live band and our main ambition has always been to play shows. We feel great to know that one of our strengths is the way in which we interact on stage, both musically and personally. We wanted to use this energy in the studio, though, what we had in mind was to record the vocals live with the band. That was an idea that Ethan suggested when we met with him, and finally made sense to do it.
- Some bands say that working with Ethan Johns is the same as working with the guy who has the best team. Do you think the same? No, especially by the fact that to get to have the best team just need money, but to be able to use your resources in honest and timeless records, you have to have a big production history behind you. That's the most important. Ethan has a lot of that and has proven time and again with the albums he has released. An important point is that the team appreciates Johns as something far less important than the human element that characterizes the music. I remember I spent the entire recording process trying to get the better of us as instrumentalists, musicians and people. And I think he did a great job.
- Compusisteis items in hotel rooms, airports ..., right?Yes, everywhere. I remember working on new material in Australia and thought it was very surreal to be writing something in a city that was so far from home where I grew up.
- In a previous issue of Rolling Stone comentasteis that you want people to listen to your music while having sex. What song from your repertoire that you think is the most sexual of them all?I think it depends on the type of sex you want to have. If you want something aggressive, possibly choose 'Bad Mood', but if you wanted a love rejuvenated, perhaps 'I Always Knew', or 'Lonely World' for something sweet. But I do not know, I've never fucked listening to The Vaccines. That would be odd, as if they were my friends while I'm watching.
- What could I say about 'Aftershave Ocean'? We love the refreshing feeling of the song. How was the issue?'Ocean Aftershave' was born from a silhouette guitarrera who composed Freddie, and that came from an idea of Justin raised letter on a 'sea of aftershave' and the concept of 'get from the air'. The content is about seeing the world as it is and not mask the bad things with a surface layer of positivity.
- We believe that the songs that feeling home that refers to the rock sound of the sixties. Do you think the same?I think there's a stack of signatures and relate any type of issue (our or any other band) with rock bands of the sixties. Everyone has taken inspiration from the Beatles, Stone, The Kinks, Neil Young, Phil Spector ... But there's much more than that in our subjects. Rather than looking for any kind of time, we look at ourselves, watching everything that we listened, we read or watched and that affected us. From there we tried to draw the feeling that created that connection.
- Several hearings have been your last concerts that have been launched to make moshpits while tocabais 'Bad Mood'. From this moment, what has been the most fun?Well, the other day we saw some girls were removed the bra in the middle of the song ...
- The introduction of "Ghost Town" seems perfect for a mosh. When composing, Did you think that people would be so crazy to hear it again?None of us thought it was going to happen with that topic. We love to play it. I remember the first time I was a little nervous the first time we played it, because it's a little different than what we've done so far. Luckily everything went very well and is a regular song in our bowling.
- Imagine that you can say that The Vaccines opening for a band of your choice. What escogirías?Probably the Rolling Stones, because they invented the style of music we play and are some incredible artists. I think Keith Richards is a phenomenal guitarist, plus he and the rest know farrear ...
- Do you plan to come in concert to Spain soon?Yes! We plan to play a couple of gigs in your country in December, but we do not know more details ...
- What was the best part of playing in the last edition of the FIB (Festival Internacional de Benicàssim)? That performance was one of my favorites. I felt as if all the people that were living there this together, and we share with them that incredible night. The audienca was the best I've gotten to see so far.
- Have you been working an awful lot in the last two years. Do you still feel that you have the energy for, flip, rotate around the world and re-record another album? This hope! We are enjoying the time of our lives but I think we deserve a rest after finalize the tour for this new album. Even so hopefully we get down to compose something soon.

Listen to "The Carpenter", the latest album by The Avett Brothers

The wait has come to an end: "The Carpenter", the second album that The Avett Brothers have released under a major label, is here. Well, the truth is that there is still a bit to launch (September 11) but it is possible to hear each and every one of the songs on the entire album via streaming is uploaded to NPR, probably the musical web which houses more relevant streamings per day worldwide.
The story of The Avett Brothers took its first steps in 2000, but even so the band of brothers did not quite explode Avett medially until the release of "I and Love and You", an album of folk satin lightweight who came to enchant the audience much of U.S. in late 2009. This new compact is following in the footsteps of its predecessor, including a more introspective take death and the need to live as main themes of "The Carpenter". The brutal struggle for survival that is living the daughter of 2 years of bassist - Bob Crawford - has been the main source of inspiration conceptual work that was again produced by Rick Rubin, figure and was behind "I And Love And You ".
I have not had time to listen to the LP depth but I started to feel good vibes listening over a piece as 'Winter In My Heart', 'February Seven' or 'Through My Prayers'. If you liked the last album is quite likely that you will like "The Carpenter", there is an undeniable link between the melody composing both. Just a recommendation: listen with headphones, in a quiet moment. Your ears will thank you.
As a curiosity, here are the Avett Brothers ad that recorded for the clothing brand Gap. Curious to see them in a spot like this, right?.

'Resounding is her second name: Instrument live in Kranhalle

On 13/09/2012 it says in the crane hall in Munich 'home game' for klangwuchtige band instrument, formed in 2010 from the ashes of the highly regarded rock band Cosmic Casino. Why klangwuchtig? Now who his new album brimming with confidence after the largest known mountain in our solar system, the "Olympus Mons" on the planet Mars, like names, so no doubt-subtly point to his Klangwuchtigkeit.
What instrument with Cosmic Casino in common? It is still rocking. On the other hand instrument are also going very different paths. On their records can be heard first, the affinity for jazz and instrumental improvisation. Secondly, a clear preference direction identify pop music song structure, combined with catchy melodies.
After several tours to the self-titled debut album, the second album "Olympus Mons" within a year was composed, recorded and produced. These different studios, rooms and places of retreat in Bavaria and neighboring states were used. The result is an album that is not minus the second, but the better and more sophisticated. "Olympus Mons" is partly the sweeter and thus supporting more pop album in itself. The video for the first single "Picks & Chips" shows that the concept of verse-chorus-verse has somehow exhausted. Because with instrument remains a Giarrenlinie amazingly just so stuck in my head.
Instrument in the crane hall in full occupation, that is with their second guitarist Maximilian Nieberle occur, and thus develop its entire force.
Visit also the instrument concert on 13.09.2012 in the crane hall in Munich.

Following in the footsteps of wild beasts called Band Of Horses

We thought that the beautiful recording of 'Knock Knock' by Christopher Wilson was to be the official video of the first single from "Mirage Rock" Band Of Horses. We were wrong; Ben Bridwell's band just released a clip of the same song with which the director - Jared Eberhard - gets us into the same cheesy scene documentaries that characterized the 70s. Yes, we are talking about those "cutrefilms" projectors showed that for all types of schools, although in this case Ben Bridwell & Co. are wild beasts that focus the attention of the entire audiovisual production.

Jared Eberhardt, the video's director, explained well the meaning of NPR clip. "The video for" Knock Knock "was the perfect combination of three things. First of all, as a fan, I had a genuine interest in making it look like something that was done by the members of BOH. I did not want to do anything that seemed too perfect. Second: I grew up in the area where we shot the video [near Salt Like City, instead relied on the theme 'The Great Salt Lake'], when they decided to record BOH there had already chosen locations. And third: I wanted to pay tribute to those old nature documentaries I enjoyed my time in school. These old films showed many types going to exotic places and adventures, considering little or lighting aesthetics: recording day, preparing scenes artificially .... It was fun and sometimes difficult to make bad things they saw, but not too bad. "

The brilliant and colossal black and white world of Garbage

I admit it: I love the music of this new era of Garbage. All outlets seem to be meticulously finished, and Shirley has such angelic aura about them that we inevitably feel some degree of attraction to the promotional material they are editing the producer Butch Vig and his beloved alternative rock band. The last clip on the scene is 'Big Bright World', which can be enjoyed in the same input and shows us the ever elegant Shirley Manson eating each and every one of the planes.

Garbage have started European concert scheduled for next November. Cologne, Brussels, Amsterdam or Lyon will be among the destinations of some guys who already came to Spain this summer (more precisely to BBK). I wish I enjoyed the concert in Bilbao festival is not the last you will Shirley band in this 2012.Garbage want more!

Guitar, banjo and a lot of sense

joykillssorrow

"We do not think that traditional music should be improved. We just play like we just play. "So said Matthew Arcara, guitarist of the Stringband Joy Kills Sorrow, whose sound. The five-member group from Boston, plays a mix of folk, indie and jazz, sometimes mixed with classical elements. All band members have a classical music education. It is also apparent. Joy Kills Sorrow is technically high level. Especially honored singer Emma Beaton, even with numerous singing awards, moved with her clear, gentle voice in her spell. True to the name of their album Unknown This string band music, the science sees as a science that can be explored again and again and loves it, therefore, improvising. On 12 October, Joy Kills Sorrow give the house a concert in America, we should therefore expect a few surprises.

Yellowcard - Southern Air (2012)

Yellowcard have done it again. They managed to get another disk to the market that a lot of mixed feelings, but none of them is related to boredom. If the last disk and hooked us considering it was his first job after returning from a hiatus, this new issue continues to Florida in a good spot on the podium musical genre. 2011 was a good year for them, but with 10 new songs, 2012 also receive them with open arms.
Southern Air is a perfect album for the summer season. Explosive songs and fun, the kind you hear over and over again when you make car trips or just go to the beach for a bit airearte. For moments of this type we recommend 'Awakening', 'Always Summer' or 'Sleep In The Snow', three specimens with catchy melodies and Sean Mackin's violin that sets us goose bumps. For fans more "old school", 'Surface Of The Sun' or 'Rivertown Blues' are the issues that they leave with a good flavor, they are of those songs that remind us of Yellowcard Ocean Avenue (2003). In fact, it is surprising that such groups can continue to create music that reminds us that a decade ago did not we lose interest. Not many endure in a single genre without having to make major changes in music and maintaining a fan base always similar, but they get it album after album.
Finally, we come to ballads like 'Telescope' or 'Ten', although it is noteworthy that 'Here I Am Alive' is another gem in which Tay Jardine of We Are The In Crowd provides cooler air to the song by adding his voice female. In addition, Ryan Key's voice is stronger than ever and the lyrics as in the case of 'Awakening' or 'Southern Air'.
So, with these 40 minutes (approximately) of new material, we hope that some day return to step our country to welcome you as another sold out last December.

Dead Can Dance on a larger world tour - in October in Munich

On 09.08.2012 begins the great world tour, those of the duo Dead Can Dance Australia. World music, neo-classical, gothic rock and post-punk? One finds it difficult to categorize the music of Dead Can Dance. In her very own style of Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry have always been incredibly blended many different elements together. From rock to medieval melodies and Gaelic traditional folk have also been adopted as part of Arab and Eastern European harmony and African rhythm. The instrumentation is for Dead Can Dance always open to any type of game. Electric guitar, a synthesizer, a didgeridoo, a violin or a glockenspiel, everything is permitted if it is the fullness of sound. With all these and many other instruments, the duo will occur on 10/07/2012 at the Philharmonie am Gasteig in Munich.
The performances of Dead Can Dance are the first world tour since their completely sold-out shows in 2005. On this tour showcase the duo's new studio album "Anastasis." This is the first since 1996, published in "Spiritchaser". Since 1981, the two now play together already - apart from their temporal separation between one time. Obviously, Dead Can Dance, have now found great joy in the music together and to each other - thankfully!
Especially characteristic of Dead Can Dance: The Voices. Perry's warm baritone forms a clear contrast to Gerrard's bright sound. Dead Can Dance has always played what is known as a troublesome world music, but what is in their expression in a unique variety. Thus they have become role models for a whole generation of musicians.
What will be live in the Munich Philharmonic, Brendan Perry describes it: "Our tour plans are well under way and so we have assembled a fine group of performers for the live concerts who have kindly put their own careers on hold in order to perform the music from our new album as well as some new arrangements from the historical archives. "

Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten

After being born in Ankara, Turkey, and travel around the world, with just twenty years John Mellor made his living as a gravedigger in the UK somewhere. With the strength just to dig the graves, the work lasted until he was caught taking a nap on one of the graves. The fate of the protagonist of this story, which occurred before he was baptized as Joe Strummer car, just might be the punk-rock icon.
The documentary "Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten", directed by Julien Temple (author of numerous works, including the Sex Pistols documentary "The Filth and the Fury") is a journey through the life of the charismatic leader of The Clash . Start announcing his death on the radio (resource for later use in documentaries such as "When You're Strange," about the legendary The Doors), to then tell their story from the beginning.
Son of a diplomat, Strummer spent his early years traveling from country to country, to go to stop a boarding school in England. After finishing school, he moved to Wales to study art. Although his career as a student failed, it served to establish a deeper relationship with music: The Vultures was born and his first group. However, this first experience did not last long, and moved to London, where he became acquainted with the movement and founded The 101e'rs Okupa, his first successful band. During this time when he meets one of the key people for the creation of The Clash, Bernie Rhodes, because it was he who contacted the other members of the band.
The narrative is constructed from Joe Strummer's own statements, mostly off, and different people who passed through his life (friends, girlfriends, co-group ...) as well as various personalities from culture, as Martin Scorsese, Johnny Depp, Steve Buscemi, Bono or Flea.
Premiered at Sundance in 2007, "The Future Is Unwritten" took the prize for Best Documentary at the British Independent Film Awards and shows us a multifaceted Joe Strummer: the attentive friend, concerned that all who were his around her feel comfortable, loving father, and the hard rocker who does not voice trembles when without any members of your group the benefit of the band, in short, a complex person. As he said, "I do not know what I want, if I did not bother looking for it."
"Joe Strummer: The Future Is Unwritten" is a commendable portrait of one of the leading figures of contemporary rock (which complements the Spanish documentary made in 2011 "I have a hardware store in Andalusia", over the years that Strummer spent in South of the Peninsula) but in my opinion, has a basic flaw: throughout the whole film is not a single sign indicating the name of the person being interviewed, sometimes making it difficult to identify. Still, do not miss it.

In a deciduous forest emerging growth, the fineness of the first young shoots and creativity is visible - wood. In the blazing fire dwells dynamics and intuition. Earth represents strength and physicality, for energy and endurance. In a snow-white landscape, shows structured information and order of the metal.
